Walkin’ down the streets of Ljubljana

There is one strange thing about Ljubljana's pavements. Well, there might be even more than one, but this specific one caught my attention today in the morning, as I took a little walk around the abandoned empty town. Thanks God, I said to myself, some idyllic days without traffic jams… And so, as I was walking cheerfully while enjoying the peace, I suddenly noticed a kind of absurd detail on the pavement.

Namely, our pavements have separated lanes for both pedestrians and cyclists. Fine. Order has to be. But as you can see in the photo below, it can happen you find yourself as a pedestrian in a "dead end" -  the lane doesn't go always the way you'd expect it to go. So what do you do? With all the respect to the cyclists, you are forced to cross their lane.

I really didnt' expect any cyclist at that early hour and yes, I confess, I did not look backwards. As I was about to cross, suddenly someone behind me started ringing the bell, screaming "Hey you! Move away! What are you doing, don't you see this is the cyclists' lane??"

Oops.

I guess we will soon need a zebra cross on the cyclists' lane for pedestrians, or something?!
