The iron – and copper – curtain

Used these days to shop around a bit. Since euro came, I have noticed some strange behaviour in shops. I know it's a good moment for some Slovenes to wash away some not-so-legally-earned money or for nice mafias to falsify the new banknotes, taking advantage of people not being used to the new coin so far. But really, is it absolutely necessary to put every single 5€ note through the ultraviolet machine test to see if it's fake? Funnily enough, in half of Europe they're mounting campains to replace used, broken notes with new ones, and to try to conserve them; here if they have to give change back to you, and this change includes a new-looking note, first thing they do is to crush it completely, giving you the resulting crumple with a victory look.

But what happens if you have to pay 9'51€ and you just have notes or coins not smaller than 50 cents ? I found myself in this situation… so I gave the girl a 10€ note… waiting for the typical question…

-Ali nimate 51 centov? (Don't u have 51 cents?)
-I only got 50 cent coins.. I can give you 9'50€, but I'd be missing 1 cent. (You wouldn't be losing that much)

She didn't seem to like the idea, so she took the 10€… and this is the result…

"Coppers"

49 cents in glorious 1 and 2 cent coins. Morale… don't try to f*** with the system, boys.

BTW, if some generous soul knows where could I find some 6.35 mm mono jack connectors (to solder) or dual layer DVDs (without "music is dying because of you, filthy pirate" tax if possible), I'd be grateful to know. Got'em, tnx!
