What do you think this means?

For our non-Slovene speakers… could you guess the meaning of this ad?

This is an ad from Mobitel that you can see in every street in town lately, and it's saying you'll speak so much with UMTS that.. you'll have to train your tongue first Tongue out

Apart from not being such a brilliant ad, there are much better ways to train your tongue :) .

But in the end, it's just another example of how desperated the telecom companies are to make you use a technology that was dead before even being available on the market. They spent years investing into UMTS, -after other nice failures like WAP- just to find out that Wi-fi and other superior technologies were already there…
So they have lost a lot of money and are (still) trying to get some back by inventing new uses for it and persuading you to use it… but really, most people doesn't want colleagues to see their face in a Sunday-morning-hangover period. After all, webcams have been with us for quite some years already, and the use of them has not skyrocketed, except for horny Messenger teenagers… but that's another story.

Same happened with ISDN, was a bit outdated investment that didn't pay out, and so you were forced -till not so long ago- to install and pay for it to be able to use ADSL at home, even if PSTN (analog lines) work for DSL anyway.
Only good thing, UTMS is the only way for many people to get Internet here in Slovenia, but prices are horrible as soon as you use it for more than reading your e-mail. No surprise anyway, having in mind that people is capable of paying SMS at more than 1000€ / MByte.
