Obviously, nothing can stop a human being from snatching the profit. Not even the fact that some human actions are putting our planet at stake. And when you realize that the future of our planet, our people, is in hands of just a few individuals, what can you do? Do you hide in the corner and cry out your helplessness, or you decide to fight against them? What would you do if you were to choose?

GENETIC POLLUTION

Manipulation of human beings has been going on for centuries already, yet comparing to the situation of the last few years, it has never been so serious. The most alarming fact, however, is that most of the population is still not aware of what is going on in their surroundings, not to mention their global consciousness. The way we think about pollution has always been connected with chemistry. The stuff cleans up and fades with time, no? Well, what about pollution that behaves instead according to the rules of biology? We know that chemicals do not replicate themselves, which is something we can not assert for DNA's behaviour – such a pollutant would have the ability to copy itself over and over again, so that its impact on the environment would increase with time rather than diminish. Now THIS would be a problem. If released into the environment, the so-called genetically modified organisms (GMO or GE) could take over other inhabitants and lead the species into extinction. I don't need to be a geneticist to understand the magnitude of this threat to our ecosystems and biodiversity.
And given that Slovene parlament is preparing to approve the law about GTO in Slovenia in July 2007, I call your attention to get informed more about this, spread the knowledge via your blogs or any other way, for people to understand what could this mean for us.
