Seeking for flat in Ljubljana
There are many people, young mostly, seeking for flat in the Slovenia's capital these days. Most of them are students, looking for a shelter for the next study year, but there are also couples who are moving houses for the sake of own peace.
I wanted to have a look at the current situation. So I began the search, on internet of course, and I came across to page www.nepremicnine.net where you can find listed all flats/houses for rent/sale of major Slovene real estate agencies as well as of private offers.
Having a chance to see photos of the place before viewing it was definitely a plus but at the same time you can never be sure of something before seeing it live.
Reading through the offers I realized Ljubljana got exaggeratedly expensive. Owning and speculating with real estates is obviously a damn good business.
Unfortunately for seekers, they are trying to sell/rent everything possible which includes flats that I can best describe with Spanish word: "penosos". Bedna stanovanja, po slovensko. Miserable flats. That was actually the first word I learned in Spain… penoso.
Anyway, I found some offers that made me lift my eyebrow saying to myself: Hellooo??

Example No 1
2-room appartment in old house, in Lj. Center. 60 m2 plus parking space. Built in 1930, furnished and renovated.
Price: 191.712 SIT/ 800 € per month

So, here we have a flat that was built 76 years ago. Would you dare to imagine how does it look inside? I could, sincerely. Namely, once we arranged a viewing of one flat in Bežigrad from 1940' …. and I can not fully describe that smell of… humidity, disintegration, downfall… and they wanted 500 euros per month for it!!
And it was in the building like this:

Example No 2
1-room flat in Bežigrad.
38 m2, 1 room, built in 1970. We rent part of a 2-room flat, namely the living room. Living room is big and suitable for 2 people. Along with this you share kitchen, entrance hall, bathroom with toilet with a female student already living there. Room partly furnished, missing desk table. Rest of rooms are furnished.
Price: 58.000 SIT/242 € per month

Well, THIS offer has to be read with a lot of care. Why? Because it sounds a bit confusing! First they say the flat has 1 room, while in the next sentence they mention a 2-room flat… they do not rent the whole flat, just a living room. (¿?)
Construction of 70', sounds better, no?
"Living room is big and suitable for 2 persons." – Hmm, 38sqm flat couldn't have "a big living room", could it?? I have doubts…
"The room is partly furnished, writing desks missing." – Isn't there a kind of a writing desk on the photo?? How peculiar…
242 euros/month for renting a living room without furniture even…no thanks. Hope it's the student renting it… who knows how much she's paying.

I wouldn't even look at such luxury flat but… if something costs 3000 euros per month – damn, I just had to see the photo! I can not imagine HOW can someone rent a flat for so much money. The thing is this fancy new appartment doesn't look any special at all! -Assuming "partially or fully furnished" means smtg. better than in the photo- For such price I would expect golden toilet at least… Although is suitable for people who has 3 cars for himself… For sure it was taken already. Pity!
