Repápalos
This is my adapted version of a popular dessert I discovered while living in Spain.

Ingredients:
A loaf of stale bread (1/2kg)
3 eggs
1l of milk
Lemon peel (organically grown fruit)
Orange peel (organically grown fruit)
1 cinnamon stick
6 green cardamom pods
6 cloves
100g of sugar
Vanilla sugar to taste
Olive oil for frying
Preparation:
Break the eggs into a small bowl and beat them. Cut the bread into slices (you can remove the crust if you want) and dip them into the egg mixture.
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and fry the slices on both sides.
Put them on a plate, covered with paper towels, to absorb any excess oil.
Boil the milk together with cinnamon stick, lemon and orange peel, cardamom and cloves. When the milk starts boiling, add the bread slices. Lower the fire and let it boil for about 15 minutes, then remove it from fire and let it cool down.
Serve either warm or cold. The next day it tastes even better.
¡Buen provecho!
